Company Overview  Watermill Express is a leading provider of refill kiosks, offering affordable, sustainable, and safe drinking water and ice through a convenient drive-up format. The Company operates and franchises nearly 1,300 kiosks across 8 states, predominantly across the West Coast and Sunbelt regions.  The company maintains rigorous standards across all aspects of its operations, from the quality of water and ice to the appearance and functionality of its refill kiosks.  Each unit is maintained and sanitized daily to ensure a consistently positive experience for customers and landlords.  One of Watermill Express's key initiatives is to encourage customers to refill their own reusable water bottles, not only saving them money but also contributing to environmental sustainability by reducing carbon emissions and preventing single-use plastic water bottles from ending up in landfills. To date, the company has prevented nearly 15 billion single-use plastic water bottles from polluting the nation's landfills, demonstrating its commitment to environmental responsibility. 

The District Operations Manager is a driven and results-oriented individual who utilizes leadership, delegation, follow up, and feedback to operate an efficient and profitable market. With a clear understanding of the Watermill Express mission and core business values the successful Manager will guide their team to operational excellence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate and support the company’s Pledge of Conduct.
  • Demonstrate strong technical aptitude and understanding of the water only and water-ice refill stations.
  • Serve as a resource for the Route Service Representative with respect to market inspections, inventory, cash collections, market performance, and other initiatives.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all operational initiatives in the market.
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are consistently completed to standard.
  • Lead the market by facilitating open communication, successful hires, comprehensive training, goal setting and effective performance management.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in problem solving, planning, and time management.
  • Function as the field liaison to corporate management by communicating successes, opportunities for improvement, sales trends, ideas, competitive information, and concerns to continually improve market performance.
  • Ensure inventory control procedures are in place and operational.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of all company vehicles within the market.
  • Ensure that routine service and maintenance on company vehicles are performed per guidelines.
  • Lead the market in safety management and operational safety goals.
  • Ensure that monthly safety meetings and tailgate topics occur consistently.
  • Emphasize safe and defensive driving with all market employees.
  • Model behavior that is in harmony with the company's mission and core business values.
  • Devote at least 75% of the workday in the field with leaders and employees.
  • Identify and maximize sales opportunities while operating within budget to achieve market profitability.
  • Identify and initiate methods to drive water and ice sales throughout the market.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • Ability to balance hands-on with oversight duties
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Efficient working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to learn the water and water-ice refill station processes and procedures
  • Intermediate to advanced electrical, maintenance or similar skills preferred
  • Clean motor vehicle record with a valid driver license
  • Ability to work required schedule and to work on-call for rotating weekends and evenings

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Capable of climbing ladders, walking, standing, stooping and bending
  • Ability to work safely in limited space inside the refill stations
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATES

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • College degree or some college preferred.
  • Five years management experience preferred.
